The Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Program uses tax incentives to encourage Canadian businesses of all sizes and in all sectors to conduct research and development (R&D) in Canada.
SR&ED tax incentives not only help claimants, it also betters society by encouraging innovation, technological advancements, and the pursuit of scientific and technological knowledge, discoveries, and ideas that may lead to Canadian economic growth and competitiveness.
The goal of the ETG is to help unemployed and employed British Columbians access the skills training they need to adapt to the changing requirements of jobs and the labor market while encouraging employer involvement in the training of their employees.
This program is designed to assist employers in providing skills training to new or current employees that will develop skills and certification, upgrade skills needed due to automation and enhance productivity.

$5,000 per participant for the Workforce Training Stream
$10,000 per participant for the Foundational and Technical Skills Training Streams
Here is an example under the Workforce Training Stream, which covers up to 60 percent of the total training costs:
An application with one participant has a total training cost of $9,000, 60 percent of that would be $5,400. Since the maximum amount is $5,000, the total government contribution for that application would be $5,000
If the application has 10 participants with a total training cost of $90,000, the total government contribution for that application would be $50,000
